Bent spring 1

Hello all

I've been trying to search for a model of a spring (helix that will ben round a path like a toroidal helix. I can only find one for a version of NX which I can't open (my nx 6 has gone) has anyone got a version for NX 4 please? or at least all the parameters/expressions I need to enter? See image for clarifciation.

I don't have NX4 but attached is an expression file for a curved helix. Just import and create a law curve based on xt, yt, and zt. Not perfect (no closed ends) but maybe a decent staring point?

I cleaned the expressions up a bit and now it does exactly what I wanted.
