Ladies and Gentlemen,

Quick question - what is the "Best Practice", as outlined by Siemens, for using the NX6 function of importing assemblies into TeamCenter? Been able to run the function just fine when TeamCenter Auto Generates the part numbers. But when I create a series of part number items in TeamCenter before importing, I run into some issues. Help!

Search in GTAC: "Importing NX parts with attributes into Teamcenter". You'll find a PDF guide explaining the procedure.

TC_Use_Existing_Attrs_b.pdf? Thanks, that does help in the steps.

Thanks to @checco; that is a useful document. It doesn't, however, describe what to do with parts that have revisioning applied already. For example, what if an assembly and its parts were versioned using NX's Native versioning capabilities? Is there a way to bring in the revision information as well? (ie: the parts/assemblies would have an Attribute like "DB_PART_REV" already applied in the Native filesystem...)

Is there a way to bring in the revision information as well?

Inside "numbering" options put the ${DB_PART_REV} into the revision box so NX will import the part with the revision. (you can choose "Overwrite" in case this revision already exhist).
