Gents,

I have an aluminum weldment that isn't structural per my definition of structural...it doesn't hold anything up or have a way of failing catestrophically, etc.

So that said, is there something other than AWS D1.2 I should refer to? I'm struggling to find something while googling.

Thanks,

Mike

The Farm Code 2002 may meet your needs. You should be able to Google it.

That one went straight into my digital library - thank you very much gtaw...
I can't wait to see the faces of my clients, next time they ask a similar question, and I'll take out this code and present them the answer.

I refer to it on a regular basis.

I am happy you enjoyed the humor.

Best regards - Al

I appreciate the help...errrr, yeah.

I laughed my ass off over farm code 2002.
It looks very similar to a code marked " Redneck Welding"
B.E.

You are judged not by what you know, but by what you can do.

It is about due for a revision.

Best regards - Al

So is your point there is no standard defining welding aluminum for weldments that are not structural?

gtaw....beats the hell out of most code documents!
