Area of Improvement in Turbine operation.
• Steam to Turbine flow rated rate 77400 kg/hr at high pressure steam is 35 kg/cm2 & normal steam flow rate is 66400 kg/hr
• Extraction back pressure HP side is 4.5 barg.
• Condensation liquid pressure is 0.16bara.
• Turbine make is Nuovo Pignone.
Currently with 50% level of steam condenser with condensate transfer rate is 22 m3/h and increased steam condenser level to 60% we got to export of condensate is 35 m3/h during plant trail. Thereby we stopped trail to avoid moisture entrainment to turbine blades which is risky operation to run the plant.
The condensate transfer pump duty as fallows.
• Q (m3/hr) : 45 m3/h( rated) & 22.7 m3/h, Head is 65 m
• Suction pressure is -0.875 barg & pump discharge pressure is 6.5 barg.
• Please refer pump curves.
Questions:
In lieu of above technicality, condensate transfer pump impellor resizing is to be done, if do so how much availability of margin is exists, will I get the desired flow rate of 45 m3/h?
If in case change the higher rated motor without changing the pump impellor, will I get the adequate flow rate to 45 m3/hr?
Or else whole pump along with motor has to be replaced.
Your requested to provide your expertise and troubleshooting mechanism having simple needful solution.
