1994 - 2002 - Timesaving Design Aids for Reinforced Concrete, Fanella, Concrete Construction, 1994 and SEAOC 2002

Louis Yaw (Walla Walla) has a copy of this on his web site (currently). Please use the feedback/contact form if this link dies.

Timesaving Design Aids for Reinforced Concrete, Fanella, SEAOC 2002.

Covers shear walls, one way slabs, beams, beam shear reinforcement, and two-way slabs, for example.

Also contains derivation or discussion of the Mu = 4 As * d approximation.

Previous paper, 1994 (largely the same content, I'll venture):

Fanella and Ghosh, "Simplified Flexural Design for Beams and Slabs," Concrete Construction, April 1994 (website only credits Fanella, the article it provides via the download link is by Fanella and Ghosh) -

There's apparently another one in 2012 presented to the Structural Engineers association of Utah (not found at present), and similar content in "wall of text" format is on the Structure Magazine website, Simplified Methods in Reinforced Concrete Design, no attribution (I'm going to make the leap it's Fanella and Ghosh), date unknown.

Since you can private message to members with the new website format (and there's no feedback mechanism on FAQs anymore), please send me a message if any of the links go sour.
