How do I find the initial sprinkler pressure requirement?

by  skdesigner  Posted    (Edited  )
Q=K(P^.5)

Where:
Q= Flow (USGPM)
K= Sprinkler Orifice Coefficient
P= Pressure (psig)

Re-arrange for P:

P=(Q/K)^2

Q also = coverage area per sprinkler(sq.ft)* Density(gpm/sq.ft)
(sq.ft cancels, leaving GPM)

Therefore,

P=[(a*d)/k]^2
