When posting questions to the Electric Motors & Motor Controls forum, you can get the most out of the help we can offer by giving us as much information as possible. For example:
[ol]
[li] Provide the motor information, ALL of it that you have available even if you might think it is unimportant or "something everyone knows". HP or kW, voltage, frequency, rpm, everything. Leaving out details wastes time in our having to ask you for it.[/li]
[li] Fully describe your application as best you can. For instance if it is a pump, how much head, pressure, flow etc. If it is a conveyor, how long, incline, speed, gear ratio etc. The more information we have to work with the better.[/li]
[li] State your problem clearly. Remember, this is not a substitute for engineering, this is HELP for engineers. When you are stuck on something, let us know where you are stuck, don't make us try to guess. We are not mind readers.[/li]
[li] Describe any limitations in your solution. For instance, severe voltage drops, harmonics problems, limited resources, management buffoonery etc. It helps for us to know what you have to work with so we don't make untenable suggestions.[/li]

If you catch a theme here, it is information, information and information. You are not charged by the word. Be concise, but be as thorough as you can.
