Post tension and compression capacity tables can be used to check your work.

Douglas Fir, Spruce-Pine Fir, Hem Fir and Southern Pine values are presented.

Post Capacities

Tables and notes pertaining to post tension loads and post allowable compression loads for a variety of lumber types.

If you prefer a "printed" copy, the current Simpson catalogs don't have these tables, but the offsite copy of the 2013-2014 Simpson Wood Construction Connectors Catalog has it. [ School of Professional Home Inspection web site ].

ETA: 12/23/24 - I don't have a 2010 Catalog, but the 2009 Catalog doesn't have these tables, and the 2011 does. Simpson did an annual catalog for a fair while. 2012 was maybe the last annual catalog, now it's every 2 years.
