How to get around the "File or folder is in use" issue when renaming or moving files or folders

I think most are aware of the bug in Windows 7 &, from what I hear, Windows 8 where right clicking in the left pane of windows explorer causes it to crash, and trying to rename a file or folder will cause this error message.

For some reason Windows thinks there is a file open, or some program is using the folder, even if you just opened it, and have no files open from the folder. It appears Microsoft is not listening to users and has no interest in admitting to the issue, let alone fixing it.

A quick and easy way around this issue is using Solidworks Explorer instead of Windows Explorer.
Simply navigate to the folder, and rename it as you would in Windows Explorer. I’ve done this with numerous folders, and have yet to get an error message.
