    50 microns seems to be a rule of thumb for maximum acceptable particle size for hydro test water (at least for carbon steel). I have researched unsuccessfully (including Eng-Tips) the technical basis for this magic number. Does anyone know where the 50 microns come from? ... your feedback is...
