    When to use AISI vs. AISC in regards to material thickness?

    Does anyone know if there is a reference to the recommended minimum thickness one should consider when designing per AISI (cold formed Steel) or the provisions of AISC? I've seen 1/8" as a rule of thumb, but I want to know where that is coming from.
