Passive pressures for sloped soil backing

Thanks Everyone. NAVFAC DM7 has the answer. I Also found an equation for Rankines passive earth pressure for sloped back fill. It seem as though it is just calculating the weight of the wedge though.

    Road Plate Design

I am looking to design a road plate to carry a point load right smack in the middle of it. The Road plate would be supported on all 4 sides, however i feel that assuming that the plate is only supported on two sides and would only be bending in one direction is very conservative. Does Anyone...

Passive pressures for sloped soil backing

I think I have found the graph you are talking about (not certain if i can name exact pages on here). However, the graph I found does not help if the berm steps out a couple of feet from the wall before it starts to slope. The graph i found gives Kp values using culombs method. was that the one...

Passive pressures for sloped soil backing

Hello all. Does anyone have a good reference, can send me to a thread, or can explain to me how to to determine the passive resistance of a sloped berm? Thank you.

    Pin to Pipe Connection

How would you analyze a pin to pipe connection, where the pin is perpendicular to the plane of the pipe. The pin is connecting to a shackle, which will be pulled perpendicular to the plane of the pipe and the pin. The design is not a simple shear plate connection.
