Sorry I'm fairly new to FEA, could you explain what you mean by modelling the fasteners as springs etc to hand calculate bearings stresses?
Many thanks
FEA Way, thanks for that. The non-linear simulation looks reasonable around the pins.
I am now getting a stress concentration in the corner of the upper face. This, again, is where the fixed constraint ends abruptly, essentially creating another sharp edge at the boundary.
Any further...
Hi All,
I am currently designing a drone frame, and performing FEA on a quarter model (see below).
The arm has a 10N load acting upwards at the end, while the top surface of the main body is fixed. This is to simulate the forces occurring when the drone accelerates upwards at maximum...
Cheers guys, I'll look into it. In SOLIDWORKS the same operation causes tiny displacements although the model still runs. Strange that Autodesk is providing such different results.
Fusion360. The constraint is frictionless, which just prevents any movements between surfaces in the normal direction. Therefore the rod can spin. The part cannot move in the axial direction of the rod, but can rotate freely around the rod, and without F1 and F2 creating equal moments I wouldn't...
Hi, please see the attached drawing. I've set up an FEA for a part (a rocker for a monoshcok suspension system) and constrained the rod as described in the photo. Please can someone explain to me why the part is able to complete an FEA analysis rather than spinning around indefinitely? Many thanks
