    Reactor Rating

7anoter4 Thank you very much for the help. You got exactly what I needed.

    Reactor Rating

That's what I am talking about. I think 2.16 MVA is the correct answer. Thank you

    Power Cable Impedance

Thank you very much. But I still don't get it. How did you know which ones are laid side by side and which are in conduit ?? about the following cables: 300 feet (1) 3-conductor # 1/0 copper 1/2 inch conductor separation nonshielded nonmagnatic conduit 500 feet (2) 3-conductor # 3/0 copper...

    Reactor Rating

Since the reactor impedance is represented in per unit (percentage) then there is an MVA rating envolved. I need to know what is that value so that I can convert the percentage impedance to my Base. @ThePunisher: I think you did a mistake by multiplying the value by 3 because the 4.16KV is...

    Reactor Rating

So you are saying that Rated Kvar = VLL*Irated*Z leakage/sqrt(3) ?? why did you multiply by Z ??? and I thought rated values are based on line-to-line values so I think you have to multiply by sqrt(3). according to IEEE violet book, kVA = sqrt(3)IRatedVRated, LL !!! Is that correct ? Thank you...

    Reactor Rating

Yes it is a series current-limiting reactor in a three phase system. However, those values are given in a single line diagram of a power distribution system. I need to find the rated MVA to change the impedance value to my Base. Thanks

    three winding autotransformer impedence

I am trying to evaluate the impedence of an autotransformer with a tertiary winding. The problem is that I am getting negative value for primary winding impedence, how is that possible? Zhx = 10% on 30MVA Zxy = 9% on 10MVA Zhy = 15% on 30MVA I am using 100MVA as base. H: high voltage winding...

    Reactor Rating

I am trying to find the rating of a reactor connected to a medium voltage system for fault current calculations. the reactor has specs as follows: Reactor connected to a 4.16KV bus 300A Z = 6%

    Power Cable Impedance

About previous cable, the separation is 3/4 inch not 1/2. Thanks

    Power Cable Impedance

Thank you for your answer. but I am still confused why did you use tables A4-3 and A4-6 for the first cable and a4-7 for the second cable!!!! Also could you help me with this cable ?? 500 feet (2) 3-conductor # 3/0 copper 1/2 inch conductor separation nonshielded nonmagnatic conduit Thank...

    Power Cable Impedance

I am trying to find the impedance of power cables for fault current calculation purposes. I am trying to solve a question just like the one in chapter 4 of IEEE red book. I am using the tables provided at the end of the chapter but I don't know whether to use tables A4-3 and A4-6 or to use table...
