I've pushed solidworks very hard over the years and have found it to be a bit on the saladworks side of the fence with parent child relationships not holding as they should *compared to Creo But overall it's not so bad.

Ill bet it's me but I get differing results when trying to make a surface extend in UG. Sometimes the surface extend gets dislocated and becomes disconnected. I would imagine there to be several settings there too.
1 strait extend with respect to an angle. G0
2 a G1 or tangental extend...
I got it to work once but there seams to be a global setting someplace that only lets users change line type. I want to change the color too. It's simple Im sure.

Im haviing a spot of bother driving parent child constraints with respect to splines.
What Im trying to accomplish is an Industrial designers trick of proving form. For example, Ill build a structure of parametric curves then tie 3 or 5 degree splines to those sketch structures as a separate...
Creo calls it freestyle
I forget what Catia calls it???
Maya calls it Sub'D
Inventor purchased the T-Splines
The programmer speak is Sub Divisional Surfaces
how about calling it SDS or FOAM < and coming up with a killer acronym for FOAM
Form Outer Area Manipulation
or
From Outer Astro...
Does UG have the sub'd functionality such as the T-Splines plug in or Freestyle in Creo or Catia?

yea. my brain is wrapped up in Creo - Pro/E world for so long. In my effort to be careful to not make a reference to an improper feature I would go into insert. I did play with re-ordering quite a bit. I feel comfortable. Top Down design is next ;) WAVE

hey john. you a huge help. I administered a Pro/ENGINEER class in Cyprus CA to Yamaha in 2007 or so. It's cold in Chicago this week for some reason as if it's not summer. I am a little handicap-ed w/o an insert function. In a previous post you mentioned a way to insert a sketch up in the...
