Dynamic Stiffness and static stiffness in metals

Dear electricpete , Thank you so much for your reply , I would like to ask whether dynamic stiffness term may have a different meaning , I thought that the dynamic stiffness obtained from the FRF (as greg said) is the theoretical dynamic stiffness? what is the difference between dynamic...

    Is this possible ?

HEy guys , Let's I have an SDOF system , and I would like to know thw dynamic stiffness of this system , is the FRF enough ? , how to compute dynamic stiffness from FRF ? Thank you caemagic

Dynamic Stiffness and static stiffness in metals

Hello , I would like to know whether it is safe to assume that static and dynamic stiffness in metals can be assumed to be the same. Metals , in general have very little damping ,hence both static and dynamic stiffness should not differ am I correct ? Thank you caemagic

    Brazed Joints in Sol 103

Hey guys I would like to ask you on how to model brazed joints in SOL 103 , what would be the best practice for modeling such a joint , is it possible to model them via RBE2/RBE3 Thank you caemagic

Modeling Tuned Mass damper in NX Nastran

Dear Guys Thank you so much for your reply , it is so exciting for to share knowledge. Please refer to the attachment for further detail of the problem , I have a machine which has a vibration problem , i add these visco-elastic materials, rubber. by trial and error , I reduce the response...

    Displacement in forced vibration

Hi Mandar In vibration simulation , almost any software would require you to carryout a modal analysis first , hence u should extract the eigenvalues of the ur structure first , then proceed to any other analysis including transient analysis , hope that helped caemagic

Modeling Tuned Mass damper in NX Nastran

Dear rob Thank you so much for your reply , I have a visco-elastic tuned mass damper in a structure which I would like to model , since the mass added is rubber , hence there's some damping , if an equivalent in terms of springs, dampers and mass to be made , how do we model it ?

    Dealing with subsystems

Hey guys , I would like to know how to deal with subsystems? , I am interested in the vibration of a structure , let's say I am interested in the vibrations of a car engine mounted on rubber bushing, how do I constrain the engine in such a way that the behavior of the engine as a subsystem...

    CQUAD4 and CQUAD 8

Hey guys , I would like to know the difference between these two elements , as a guideline it's preferable to use CQUAD8 , do we always use CQUAD8 when ever we mesh and analyse ? thank you caemagic
