Hello. I have a Siemens 3RK1315-6LS41-3AA-5 motor starter with reversing contactor. Is it possible to use the digital inputs to reverse this device? If not, is it possible to use ASI to accomplish reversing. The reversing would only need to be done in a jog fashion momentarily upon occasion.
I am somewhat new to Step 7, but not to PLC's. I seem to have a problem grasping the concept here when it comes to the inputs and outputs of what Siemens calls the "Variable Declaration Table". Are these I/O real physical inputs and outputs?
Don't quite know what the drive is doing at the time. However, the drive that I just recently worked on was in field weakening at the time. Motor speed range is 400 - 1600. The drive top speed is set at 1200. Part of the problem I encountered while tuning is that there is no field data. The...
The reason I asked was because on more than one drive (this one included), when the motor was stopped, it the went in reverse for maybe more than a complete revolution. could this have due to regenerative effect, or the series field overpowering the shunt field?
"The point may be reached where the series field will overpower the shunt and the motor will reverse."
Do you mean the motor will reverse while it is motoring? Or could it reverse after the motor is stopped?
Yes, this is actually a shunt motor with a series field. I figured it to be a compund motor. However I have heard this motor being referred to as "stabilizing shunt". I do not know the difference. The drive could not be tuned because it was overrated for the motor which is very old. We ended up...
I did try. They were not able to help me. They recommended I contact Allen Bradley. They (AB)are wanting me to send the motor in. I know the resolver is bad. If I could just find a replacement, everything will be fine. This is a resolver which has a 68pf capacitor in the excitation winding. It...
I have a bad resolver on an Allen Bradley servomotor. It is an AB 1326AB-E3E-11-TJB. There are no numbers on the resolver. I can get no information from the manufacturer. How can I go about sizing up a suitable replacement? Any help is appreciated.
We are able to turn it with very moderate force. We have surely ruled out a problem with the crank shaft. When we unload the motor, the speed and current of the motor are normal. It is as though the slip of the motor is high and we never reach the breakaway torque required before the drive trips...
I have entered into the drive the nameplate data from the motor nameplate. The rpm is 1750. Full load current is 36 amps. I am not able to check this now,but I beleive in order to run this drive in the vector mode, I need an encoder, which there isn't one. I might add when I had the motor...
I have a Reliance GV3000 which trips on "OC". I have a 30hp, 480v motor with a 60hp drive. The LRC goes up to 78 amps in about 4.5 seconds. Then the drive trips on overcurrent. I have tried to adjust the acceleration slope having numerous values from 5 seconds to 20 seconds. The drive still...
Can anyone explain the difference between code letter and design letter date found on motor nameplates? It apperas though both are related to locked rotor current. What is the difference between the two?
