    convert tube to sheetmetal?

ok. ran a search but nothing seems to quite fit what im looking for. it would be really easy if the dist head was a single part, not all round pipe, and not an assembly.

    convert tube to sheetmetal?

my employer seems to think i can just run two pieces of tube together and have solidworks cut it precisely the way i want them, without make all the panels and references along the traditional way.

    convert tube to sheetmetal?

is it possible to convert a tube to sheetmetal? basically the shop wants some paterns they can attatch to the pipes to aid creation of discharge heads (pumps). so im thinking sheetmetal is the way to go. i've created the part but cant any of the sheetmetal commands. also is it possible for the...

    shaft thread.

ok. i guess you can disregard all of this since i've figured out how to customize the ui.

    shaft thread.

ok. i figured that one out. i guess the poeple who put the ui together neglected to include the "cosmetic thread" button in the tool bar. so i guess a better question would be can i add that button into the ui?

    shaft thread.

im trying to add a 10 left hand thread to a shaft for use in shaft coupling design but i cant seem to get solidworks to add a thread to the shaft. anyone know how?

    forcing diameter instead of radius.

thanks for the help on that one guys. :)

    forcing diameter instead of radius.

is it in the same spot as in the model view? it doesn't seem to be showing up. could it be because the dimension is showing up as true r?

    forcing diameter instead of radius.

the shop does use both but i guess they prefer radii. if its not possible i'll tell him so.

    forcing diameter instead of radius.

oh. i see what you're talking about. i should have specified that i was trying to annotate this on a drawing sheet.

    forcing diameter instead of radius.

it seems i don't have this check box.

    forcing diameter instead of radius.

ok, i've tried for a while to set radius to diameter in solidworks but have so far failed. the shop at my work wants me to give them their plans with diameters instead of radii, but solidworks refused to allow me to do so. does anyone know a solution to this?
