    Sawmill parallel cylinder lift issues

Nice work on your machine! It sounds like you're looking at the right things, but it's hard to diagnose specific problems from afar without the details of the hydraulic circuitry. It definitely sounds like a leak from the high-load cylinder to the low-load cylinder. Can you provide a...

    butterfly valve with lever installation

As 3DDave said, you need to check the literature for the specific product. I doubt that there's a general document available that covers all valves.

Bend straight beam to circular helix

I would call ANSYS tech support, or look in online ANSYS user forums.

Calculation for HP needed to operate a pump

Dennis, I think it's going to depend on the information you have on hand. Do you have a pump spec'ed, or are you in the process of selecting a pump to fit an application, or are you just figuring out your power requirements for a system? Please clarify.

    Pipe Clamp Connection

Hello, Kaffy. I doubt that you'll directly find what you seek in codes and standards. I recommend talking to Application Engineers at the pipe clamp suppliers.

Profil tolerance check (Unequally Disposed Tolerance)

Garland23, I agree. I was speaking in a more general gauging sense (GO-NOGO vs. numerical) and not to a specific tolerance type. I should have been clearer.

    Water siphon question

Yes, your best bet is a pump. You only need a 1" drop to keep the siphon running. But starting it would be the challenge. Bernoulli's law tells us that we can only "suck" up a certain height (I think the 32 ft previously mentioned). One siphon option could be to cap the 875 m end, fill your...

    GD&T question on position

I agree with all the other comments. Especially the $15! I am always surprised to see how widespread the application of position tolerances has become. I always just use it for holes. I agree with you that perpendicularity and/or profile (depends on function) is fundamentally better in this...

Profil tolerance check (Unequally Disposed Tolerance)

Without MMC allowance, I don't think you can use a GO-NOGO. The implication of the specification is that you need numerical data, so I think you'll need to use a CMM.

Valve at inlet side of pump

There is definitely a risk of that, but it depends on the numbers. An alternative design would be a piston bore and piston that run across the opening, with a flow window in the piston. That would remove the axial force imbalance, but you might still have a lateral imbalance in the flow...

    Custom o-ring 2m (78inch) flange flattness

Your O-ring design guidance should also give a finish and flatness for the mating flange face. If not, try Parker.com. At the very least, you can apply the flange tolerances to the entire flange face (not just the portion capping the groove). If that is not manufacturing feasible, then you...

    FluidFlow Gas Model

I don't have any experience with those tools. I've used Amesim before. You may want to ask the Fluidflow folks if they have an importer or translator available.

Calculation of Residual strength of synthetic hawser rope

I recommend comparing your calculation results to known/trusted benchmarks. I'd be surprised if anyone here is going to check your calculations.

    machined molybdenum part

I can see that Molybdenum has a high rigidity (elastic modulus), so I understand your selection better. I can't offer any specific surface coating guidance, except to research its reactive properties online.
