How could I estimate then the load sharing between both the netting and the supports?
Manufacturers only provide:
1) Netting energy absorption (what is this value telling us? Is it okay if is exceeded?)
2) Resistance of suspension ropes ('supports' to the structure)...

I have to design a safety net to contain glazing panels that may fail and fall.
The manufacturer indicates a netting absorption energy.
Initially I thought that if the potential energy of the falling glass exceeded that netting absorption energy, the net would fail.

The question is, which words do "G" and "Q" for permanent and variable loads in the Eurocodes come from? I imagine it must be some French or German words.
