I am really do not know the thickness and current condition. I can find out later. The shear strength of the soil is about 1.5 to 2.0 ksf. The foundations were constructed back in 1969.
Please advise further.

Foundation sizes are 21 feet by 21 feet, 34 feet by 46 feet and 21 feet by 32 feet shallow spread/mat foundation type.
It carries load up to 700 kips from the structures. It is founded on stiff clay below 6 feet from existing ground.

We would like to re-use some of the existing foundation to support the new structures. How do I verify the adequacy of the foundations? I have some soil information with me. The old foundation was built in 1969 to support the heavy structures.
