    Testing Studs in Composite Beams

    I have also used the "sledge hammer" field test in a pinch. One of my former supervisors used to take the most petite female engineer in the office (sorry that is not PC) out to the jobsite to administer the test. Typically, if the weld is bad, the stud will go bouncing along the deck.
