How many hours did you study for per week? Any practice tests for the structural test?
Also, is it worth paying for the PPI exam café- are the questions close enough to the test for the AM and PM portion.
I am reviewing a repair detail for holes that was drilled through 2x10 wood floor joists, spanning 14', 16"o.c spacing. Hole that was drilled is approximately 4" in diameter and I think at the center of the joist.
The repair detail shows 2"x2" SYP fastened to top and bottom of 2x10 floor joists...

1. The shear load transfer was not specified. I would think that needs to be specified and designed for, because of the presence of hollow space. Reduced shear capacity compared to a solid slab.
2. Yes, the cores are grouted and the prestressing strand is at the bottom...
