    Rotor dynamics NX

Hi all, Has anyone ever done rotor dynamics analysis in Siemens NX? I am having some trouble constraining the model as to not get rigid body motions. I also believe some of my problems may lie with the definition of the rotor and bearings..

Constraints on rotating body (Siemens NX)

Using finite stiff rods sounds like a reasonable approach which i will definitely look into. I have now adjusted the model to something in the line of what you suggested with the constraints, the results are similar as before but not equal so i will need to dig deeper into this. As for the mass...

Constraints on rotating body (Siemens NX)

Hi! I am currently designing and simulating an electric outrunner motor (rotor on the outside). I need to evaluate the displacement of the external rotor at approximately 15000 rpm and in the software i am using (siemens nx) i apply this as a rotational load. I am fairly certain that the solver...

    Restraints of crane

How far is this from my idea of restraining one leg in 6 freedoms and dividing the collision force on the other 3? I really appreciate the help, i will look into your suggestions tomorrow!

    Restraints of crane

You mean constraining the entire body in 6 degrees? Or just the one leg? Because i thought i had it restrained in all 6, X,Y,Z and R1, R2, R3

    Restraints of crane

How would you restrain the rest then? I can add a torsion load equal to that of the friction torsion.

    Restraints of crane

I am working in SAP2000 and having trouble finding a way to restrain the center of mass (even tho that probably would have been ideal. I am looking for worst case scenario, rb1957 do any of you have any experience working in SAP2000 and have any suggestion on how to do this? I can upload the...

    Restraints of crane

Hello! I am new to the forum, but need some help. I am currently working on a project where i am designing a movable container crane. The design is fairly simple and resembles a straddle carrier or mobile boat lift. I am currently working on the structural analysis and for one of the load...
