Hello,
I have an irregular building that i am performing an analysis on. My shear in the walls/columns sums up to the base shear in the building. My question is show the sum of the moments in the wall/columns sum the overturning moment of the building?
What am i doing wrong?

I am new to Etabs and i am trying to analyse a beam with holes, so therefore i am useing a wall as a shell(see file attached). I am trying to run the analysis without openings to compare the moments or stresses before i proceed to include the openings. My problem is i'm getting the correct shear...
Thanks for the comments, let me shed more light on the matter. i am checking a precast wall panel using dowel connections a Flexible metallic conduit is cast into the foundation/wall and wall, then a grade 60 rebar is inserted and grouted. they (precast manu.) want to change to SikaGrout 212 to...
I would like to use a non-shrink grout (SikaGrout 212) to embed a rebar into a concrete slab, to reduced the embedment length. The code have a maximum bond stress function of 8.3MPa, but SikaGrout 212 bond strength is 13.1 MPa (Flowable) which is higher than the function sqrt f'c. Reason for...
I am using ETABS 2013 to run an analysis on a 5 storey precast bldg. I wanted to use ASCE 10 equivalent method to develop the base shear on the structure. The problem is I calculated the base shear around 720 kips and ETABS is registering 220 kips. I looked at the parameters and I have in all...
