    Thanks! With "preserve shape" on, this simple model works correctly and so does a more complex shelled-out swept solid. I appreciate your help.

    Thanks but I still don't get the toolbar. Just like the OP, when I go to Menu -> Assemblies -> Exploded views -> Show toolbar, Nothing shows up. Does not seem to matter what "Role" I am in. I thought I just must have a broken install, but to hear that someone else had the issue and fixed it gave...
