Design of fence with posts bolted to face of retaining wall

Is this assuming a corner connection? Would the approach for a section bolted directly to the face of the wall be different? I agree, the dead load and vandal load (effectively the weight of someone climbing the fence) are fairly inconsequential as you said as the shear strength of the bolts...

Design of fence with posts bolted to face of retaining wall

Thanks for your responses guys. JoelTXCive, The CMU cells are filled in the existing retaining wall. Unfortunately I don't have access to a finite element program so was hoping to be able to calculate by hand, if possible. The contractors have installed two sets of two bolts (four bolts...

Design of fence with posts bolted to face of retaining wall

Hi All, I need to calculate whether or not the bolts used to attach a fence to the face of a retaining wall are adequate to accommodate applied loads (primarily dead load of fence, wind load, and vandal load). Due to existing services in the ground meaning that the fence posts could not be...

    Modelling post-tensioned cables using Microstran

Thanks rowing, That looks like what I need. If you can clarify for me, do you know if the input F1 for the DIST is supposed to be a displacement (m) or a force (kN)?

    Modelling post-tensioned cables using Microstran

Hi, I am attempting to model a simple cable-stayed bridge using microstran and I am wondering if anyone knows how to do this. I cannot find any features in microstran that allow for prestressing of members. If there is no specific feature in microstran for this, does anyone know of an effective...
