    O2 Pipeline Velocity

Thanks guys. Some useful info. Basically at 30m/s this is going to be a 60" pipe. So its big stuff. However, we will have a long straight run on it, and it may be possible to increase the velocity in the line to 60m/s for non-impingment zones and decrease our pipe diameter to something like 42"...

    O2 Pipeline Velocity

Safety from particle impact ignition primarily. Thanks JL, I'll take a look over those. Its about a 1000ft pipe, low pressure (1 barg) with a couple of check and isolation valves, which would be potential impingement sites, so I think I am doing this right in keeping the velocity below 30m/s.

    O2 Pipeline Velocity

Hi guys, I'm working on sizing an O2 pipe of about 300m. I was looking through the CGA standards and it suggests a limit of 30m/s for the pipe velocity due to impingement, but then later states that impingement is not an issue with high purity oxygen, or with long radius elbows, both of which...

    Flue Gas Condensation

Since you have 100 parts of dry gas to 18.6 parts of moisture (on a volume basis), you have a total of 118.6 parts. The calculation represents the amount of water as a mole fraction, or 18.6 parts of water in 118.6 parts of stuff :-) Mole Fraction = 18.6/118.6 = 0.157 or 15.7% moisture by...

    CO2 leak

Thanks guys. We are doing a full risk analysis next week, and I just wanted to see what other people were doing.

    CO2 leak

Wasn't really sure where to post this, so I apologize if there is a better location. I am new to the site. We're working with a process that will have a significant amount of CO2 recirculating in an enclosed area, and are a little concerned with what will happen if there is a leak in the pipe...

    CO2 Service

Thanks for your help guys. I just recently graduated, so a lot of this is still kind of new to me and I really appreciate all your help. Montemayor, we are looking at capturing CO2 from flue gas (atmospheric pressure) and compressing this to a supercritical point (say 10MPa and 60C), before...

    CO2 Service

Does anyone have any experience in dealing with high pressure CO2 lines? Basically I am looking for suggestions on valve manufacturers and types, and materials used for this particular service. While the CO2 will be dry for the majority of the line (<130ppm moisture), it will contain about 2.5%...
