    RBE3

I am trying to use RBE3. In the element description it says that collinear slave elements cannot be used. However, when i implement a rbe3 using three slave nodes, ansys writes the CE equations only using two of the selected nodes. Can someone explain why? Attached the...

Help creating joint between 2 remote points

Hi Manu, Do you have created the remote point using the remot point toolbox in ansys workbench? See this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lz4NY3Anl5w Can you take a print screen of the joint you are trying to insert in the model?

    Mesh retain

Hi, I am working with Ansys workbench. I have a body in space claim that is composed by multiple components, there is some way of when updating the geometry the workbench retain the mesh of the unchanged parts? Thanks.

    Mpc184 solid elements

Hi I am using mpc184 general joint and solid elements. In ansys docs says " Rotational degrees of freedom are activated at the nodes forming the element. When these elements are used in conjunction with solid elements, the rotational degrees of freedom must be suitably constrained. Since...

    MPC184 Rigid beam

Hi, I am using the MPC184 rigid beam to connect to beams modelled with beam188. Anyone knows how its calculated the bending moment output of the MPC 184? I am simulating a very simple case of two beams connected by a rigid beam. The two beams are separated by 0.5 m. And a load of 100 N is...

    NFORCE vs FSUM

I think that I already understand it is related with the point where FSUM is doing the momentum equilibrium.

    NFORCE vs FSUM

Find in annex a simple example. In this case if a fixed supported beam with a uniform distributed load.

    NFORCE vs FSUM

Thanks for the answer. I understand the definitions. But for example i tried a simple of case of a double simple supported beam and if i select only one element and one node of this element the NFORCE and FSUM commands are not given the same result. According to the definitions the results...

    NFORCE vs FSUM

Hi, Can someone please explain what the differences between the Nforce are and Fsum command. in what applications are they used? Thanks

    Shell181 element coordinate system

Hi, i also found that the positive direction of z axis is related with the positive direction of the area that is defined by the right-hand rule of the associated lines.

    Shell181 element coordinate system

Hi, I am trying to change the direction of z axis of shell 181 element coordinate system. I am using the local and csys commands. However, if i put the local coordinate system with the same orientation of cartesian the z direction of the elements appears in the wrong direction. I tried a simple...

    MPC184 Coordinate systems

Thanks for the clarification. When you are trying to find the element output data using the etable command, it is supposed to give the results in the element coordinate system right? For example, the FX should correspond to the direction from node i to node j.

    MPC184 Coordinate systems

Hi, I am trying to implement a MPC184 Rigid beam element. The Ansys documentation says that the x axis of the element coordinate system is aligned with the direction of the two connecting nodes. However, I tried to run a very simple case and when I plot the element coordinate system the showed...
