    nastran .nas file format

    I'm looking for documentation on the .nas file format so I can write a simple translator to get 2 different FEA packages to share mesh files. I am having zero success with a google search so any help with links to web pages ftp sits etc would be most helpful. TIA Mark

    FEA software ratings/comparison

    If you use fortunate to have access to Linux then you can get an Abaqus compatible FEA product for free called Calculix from http://www.dhondt.de/ It gets good reports. As for Algor: don't even think about it unless you already have no hair! It's cost of owership is not as low as you may think...
