I've had that happen to me once as well, and I shut down SW and reopened it and it was fine.

It's a manual process even with a custom property that you enter the info to. Or at least it is with the custom property I use to draw up my prints at work.

I would create a plane off the face and use the extrude cut feature to trim the vanes to the correct shape.

I was able to make the part by creating a sketch and using the convert entities tool I made the profile of one part of the void inside. Then I drew a construction line along the center of the part and used the revolve tool to create the inside piece.
