Hi, Small question, does it mak

Thanks all for the insightful replies, The question was generally speaking not specifically footings or specific situation. So the little bit extra millimeters in "d" for the layer that has higher demand in flexural capacity can make the difference in some situations such as the one mentioned...

Hi, Small question, does it mak

Hi, Small question, does it make a difference which rebar goes above which in a slab or a footing mesh in the xy plane? Does it depend on the rebar diameter or the length of the X or Y...

Pressure inside the tanks connected with 0.5 pipe

Hi, Im new to this forum and I have a question about the Pressure in the lower water tank which is supplied by gravity from the upper tank by half inch pipe in the picture below. . Thanks in advance!

Is it allowed to mix rebar diameters in flexural members?

Yes bars at the same effective depth, I'm sorry I'm not that familiar with the theory of how stress can be distributed to each bar mm2 evenly so they will yield or fail together, Can you please elaborate on that its very interesting, I imagine the concrete bond is the conduit for the stress...

Is it allowed to mix rebar diameters in flexural members?

Hi, Is it allowed to mix rebar diameters in flexural members like beams and ribs in a ribbed slab? What is the implications of that? Wouldn't the smaller diameter bars yield before the larger ones under loading making them useless? Thank you!

    Column placement suggestions

Thank you hoshang, but the 4 columns annotated in the attachment are showing up in the middle of rooms in upper floors.

    Column placement suggestions

Thank you BA and hoshang for your replies. BA I can see that have put bearing walls on the perimeter of the floors, but in the ground floor to roof slab I cant find the optimal interior column placement. Hoshang I think that the green columns are sufficient for the b2 floor, but the red...
