Hey Blas, thank you for your response, you are right my reactions are aligned with respect to the applied load. So it does not necessarily have to be aligned along the rod axial, unless the applied load is actually along the rod axial. Thank you for turning the bulb on inside my brain. Cheers !
nope its not aligned , its oriented w.r.t to global. whether its local or global , i was expecting the resulting force vector to be along the rod axial direction since there is not component. What am i missing in this interpretation ? . THanks SWcomposites for your response
Hi Everyone, i have a model with rod element, one end connected to the structure and the other end of the rod is fixe. when the solution is run, i get the rod Force and the resultant at the constraint same. but i dont understand why the resultant vector on the fixed end do not align along the...
hello everyone, i have all the composite allowables and properties except the Poissions ratio. how would you estimate this and input in your femap property . For a Plainweave epoxy and a honey comb core .
Thnks in advance
Hi Everyone, i want to perform element quality check and it is very specific quality criteria as given in table 6-2 below. But this table is for LS Dyna, but its been a bit tricky to understand. few questions i have are:
1) the term "tolerance" in the element quality tool on FEMAP. is it < X...
hey everyone , i have a surface that i want to correct. So the only way is to move the point to some location in space which corrects the surface. But unfortunately when i try this option Modify>move to > point to location , i am unable to move the point. Instead i get this message on the...
Hi Everyone, How do you assign a CSYS for laminate shell elements if its a composite structure with a ramp and curvatures in the geometry. Because THis is a 2D FEM model, everytime i change the elemental CSYS the results are affected, if i assign the CSYS along the ribbon direction then how do...
if you are sure in which direction you have calculated you strains thats yours reference .make sure your material direction for you laminate elements is along ur calculated X strain. when yo uhave run your analysis and analysis parameter has strain requests ON, now you postprocess. in post...
hey Everyone ,
can anyone help me understand to which CSYS are the RBE DOF linked to , it is to the Global CSYS by default ? . Can i control these DOF with a specific CSYS of my choice ? if yes how do you do that on FEMAP interface ?
Thank you all in advance
