    Current Transformer - Imag Specifation

@ Vertias : Class of CT is PX or X , Standard is IEC @ Scottf : Some manufcaturer specify it Imag ( magnetising Current ) at Vk (Knee Point Voltage ) and Few at Vk/2 . But These are for new substations and not matching any other existing CT

    Current Transformer - Imag Specifation

Guys Any response for the above question ?

    Current Transformer - Imag Specifation

Why is that Magnetizing current ( Imag ) measured or Specified mostly at Vk /2 (Vk= Knee point Voltage ) in the Current Transformer discription ?

    Interposing Current Transformer II Adequacy

Hi, While using Interposing Current Transformer , should we have to check the adequacy like that of Main Current Transformer Ex: Main CT is 600/1A, Class: PX, Vk: 300V and Imag : 30mA @ Vk If 300V is suitable for the Requirement wrt Main CT. Interposing CT is 600/1/1A , Should...

    Transformer Differential Protection

We had used the solution of his thesis in one of our curent running projects. Its a good piece of literature! Indeed he is genius !

    Two Phase Under Voltage Relay

Hi, Can anyone suggest Two Phase Under Voltage relay? I am looking for a auxilary relay which can be mounted on DIN Rail and I have only Two Phase(R and Y) of VT as input. Thanking you in advance. Yeruk

High Voltage in Hi-Z Protection ?

Hi Jghrist, I agree partially . when there is internal fault due to imbalance of current Voltage is developed but why is it "High after the instance of Fault" and later settles. in other words There is an Impulse later it settles ? I am not completely convinced. Thanks in advance Yeruk

High Voltage in Hi-Z Protection ?

Hi All, In Hi-Z diff Protn we calculate Vpeak and if its greater than the Impulse Voltage rating of the TRM we go for Non-linear Resistor. I wanted to the physics behind , How High voltage is generated in Hi-Z differential Protection during internal faults? Can anyone explain...

    Hi-Z REF Protection!

Dear Inpan, Vs' > If (Rct + Rp) and Rstab = Vs / Is. I think we should take the greater Value of Rct. What is your opinion on this ? Dear Slavag, I dont agree with your comment! Can you please elobrate? Thanks and Regards

    Hi-Z REF Protection!

Hi, This is wrt Hi-Z REF Protection. The Phase CTs and Neutral CT parameters are same except the Rct Value. On Phase CTs the Rct(Ph) = 5 Ohm, On Neutral CT Rct(N) = 4 Ohm. As the Rct Values are different there would be a Spill Current as the Dynamics are not Balanced. 1...

are there any transformer need 3 REF protection?

Hi , I have come across a power Transformer where all the windings have REF Prtn and the Vector Group of the Transformer Being YNyn0yn0d11 . This Transformer is used in one of the Water pumping Station. Regards
