User Draw Slab Rebar Error

Hello,

I have been attempting to manually add additional compression bars in my transfer slab to help reduce deflection. However, after placing the bars in the required locations, I am noticing an increase in deflection instead of a reduction.

Does anyone know why this might be happening or how I could resolve this issue?

Thank you!

Usually the concrete section is what contributes to the inertia and stiffness and what ultimately controls deflection in RC structures, adding rebars will theoretically add a little of inertia but not for so much. If you have problems with deflection in your slab, you can:

- Increase the thickness of the slab
- Reduce the span of the slab
- Stiff the support a little bit more
- Add a gravity column
