Hi guys!
Can you explain to me the difference between adding the loads in shell and solid model? Let's say a pressure of 1000 Pa is added on one face of a solid model. In shell model, in the direction of the acting pressure there is no face but line. So, do I add the same value of 1000 Pa or I...
Hi all!
My 3D solid model contain's a crack represented by elipse (3D/shell/planar). When calculating SIF the coordinates of the last XFEM SIF result point is outside 3D model. The SIF value at that point is calculated in millions.
Did anyone had a similar problem? I attached the photo of my...
Hi guys.
Anyone knows how to create semieliptical crack as the one in the attached photo? I'm having a problem with sketching on a curved surface. I need to make a circles on both crack edges to make a partition later on but I don't know how to do it. Anyone have any ideas...
Thank you both for your help. Mustaine3, I applied the BC's as you suggested and the resulted stresses were OK. There was only small difference in stress results between mine and yours approach. The main reason why I was confused about connecting the submodel with global model is in some...
Mustaine3,
I'm running an analysis of a disc with a central hole (global model). BC is applied around that hole. The area around that central hole and the hole itself are cut to represent the submodel so I have the BC in the same position as in global model. If I remove the BC from the previous...
Dear all,
when the global model is subjected to more than one load, do we have to choose the contact surface's between global model and submodel for all loads in submodel or choosing contact surface's for one load only will define contact surface's for the other load's too?
Regards,
Hi all!
I'm getting the following error while running the job:
THERE ARE 2380 ELEMENT/(FACET NUMBER) PAIRS REPEATED AMONG THE SURFACE DEFINITIONS GIVEN UNDER THE *SUBMODEL,STRESS BASED OPTIONS. THIS IS NOT ALLOWED
I have a submodel part which contains a crack. Global model and submodel are...
