I have recently gotten to the point where I need to clean most of my mirrors. Does anybody here do all the cleanings by themselves or does everyone pay somebody to come in and clean them all. I am looking at
-output mirror
-folding mirror
-rear mirror
-shutter mirror
-B.P.L.U mirror
all of...
Hookie - are you in the US? We had to replace multiple cones until we found one that wasn't "Broken". Also drossfree made a good point. My previous boss ordered a new cone when actually all he needed was the brass connector. Sometimes they become disconnected from the wire on the inside...
Does anybody have any experience cutting delrin on a laser before? we have experimented with trespa in the past but never something like this. Looking for cut condition input.
Thanks
I agree with drossfree , we only clean them after the cut quality changes. We have had operators in the past do more damage cleaning them all the time.
affa289 - We had a similar problem with our laser less than a month ago. If you have a way to stress test your lens it may give you a surprising result. Our lenses looked almost perfect but had huge stress points running through them. It seems as though your lens is absorbing a lot of your...
Before we replaced the Air pressure regulator, my 1/4" was cutting amazing but I had my feed rate down to 60 in/min. Just started to re-adjust the settings now and they cut clean at 78 in/min. I am going to try ramping them up to your settings and see if I can get closer to 90 in/min.
I will...
-LaserSpyder - after digging into my laser a little bit more i realized there was a larger problem then my cut conditions. My A/O mirror was not adjusting when it needed too. Now we are currently replacing the Air pressure regulator for the A/O.
On a side note - how fast are you able to cut...

are you talking about the z-wire? I have an external one already, it seems as though when i raised my nozzle gap it stopped with the errors.
I have just started getting this alarm in the middle of running a sheet of parts. My manual says, "If you get this alarm, CONTACT AMADA" along with every other alarm in the book. Does anybody know what is actually failing in the machine that causes this alarm? I would rather not call in the...
Here is the shearing cut i made on that same sheet.

Jetrep - I will give those settings a go tomorrow. I had raised the nozzle gap based on responses in another thread.
If what was being said earlier about the cut from @thelaserburns was true, "Looks like too much heat"
--Increasing to 4kw , 2000 Hz, and 100% duty would in fact increase...
LaserSpyder - Disregard the other cut conditions. Currently only using E4 for these parts. I started from scratch this time around playing with the settings. What you are seeing is a copy from one of my other cut conditions for thinner material
Here are my current cut conditions. http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=9ff7fbbe-99db-4dd0-933c-62262a13e509&file=half_inch_cut_conditions1.jpg
Jetrep - I did try a brand new lens and got the exact same result.
I am currently cutting at about 43 in/min.
I created a new grid for that part that skips around the sheet to keep from getting too hot, which has worked in the past. But without the first few parts cutting well, I can't rely...
