Thanks for your reply.
I have set up the Interface page the same as you suggest with no luck.
The force balance file is an excel file. My model is of a "unit cell" of composite material which is a small thin cube (like a plate with a thickness) of about 27000 elements, like a plate. I put...
In version 2301 of Femap to get a force balance file printed out with the solution, the file went to the "scratch directory" drive location. With the new version 2401 I am not able to locate the file, even when I re-run an analysis that was successful in version 2301.
Does anyone know where it...
Is there a way to pause and restart an ordinary linear static analysis in the middle of a solution using version 2022.1 of Siemens Femap with Nastran? I have a very large model with more than ten million elements and nodes. I have done similar models before but much smaller. This time I...
If it is a fabric, why don't you model a unit cell of the fabric using the properties of the individual fibers and matrix using micromechanics? That way you can load the unit cell to find the tensile properties, the poisson's ratio and the shear in the plane of the fabric. It has worked well...
Thanks
I did install 128 GB ram and that seemed to solve the problem of the memory. My scratch drive has 2 TB. Looking at Blas Molero's post there is still more for me to improve. It looks like I can increase my buffer size and memory in the rcf file. My rcf file looks like this...
On the advice of Support, I did add the command "system(166)=128" and that helped a bit but didn't solve the problem of lack of memory. I asked about only having 64GB of RAM and they thought it would be OK. I have tried several things to re allocate memory; to no avail. Last night I placed an...
I have decided to use sol 401 because of the cohesive elements. It is a model using composites, for studying delamination. I have successfully modelled many 4 bar tests without the cohesive elements and get consistent results that match reality. To run cohesive elements sol 401 is required...
