Thank you! Understand it now, will do a separate checking for beam without a backspan. But now I know for those with backspan it is already included. Thank you again!
Yes, this is the case that I'm referring! Was wondering if rapt included rotation at top of the column in the deflection results. Now I understand that it actually is included and designer have to calculate separately when there is a warning.
Thank you for suggesting the idea! I will continue...
Hi Retrogade,
I understand that the stiffness can be adjusted at the column tab, but on my point of view that will just control the moment taken by the beam itself and we still don't know what is the deflection at the column?
Hi rapt,
I'm looking at the deflection at the column which may...
Dear professionals,
I have a question of designing PT elements let says PT beam using RAPT, will the software consider the total deflection of beam including deflection at column support in the design? As what I can think of by changing the column stiffness can only control the moment taken by...
Have question regarding deflection of PTB results under the alternate loaded pattern, by logical thinking the deflection shall be the highest when the cantilever span is loaded as compared with both spans loaded and when the middle span loaded. I have modeled a few beams and the results turned...
Dear rscassar, Shear Force Engineer, dik, rapt and CURVEB,
Thank you so much on the useful information and resources shared to me! Much appreciated!
On the other hand, would like to check if there is unbalanced loading due to different HCS thickness as well as the span width on both side of...
Dear all professionals,
I recently started to work on PT beams and slab design, particularly with RAPT software. I would like to ask if there is any rule of thumb applicable under EC2 that is good to know for example recommended span-depth ratio and any limiting criteria during design stage...
