    cooling tower at lower position

Dear all, I have a case where the cooling tower location is 15m lower than then PHE unit it is connected to. The issue is during the filling or when the pump power off, all the water at higher level area will flow back into the cooling tower. Do I need to add check valve to prevent water flow...

pump head vs pipe pressure in high rise building

what is wrong with open tank? it is used to top up water in case there is space or air in the system

pump head vs pipe pressure in high rise building

yes. need to know the pressure to decide on the valve pressure ratings. either use 16 bar rating or 25 bar rating. I am thinking to use 25 bar rating for the first 8 floor and the rest can use 16 bar rating. regarding the pump in parallel, the head and the flow will increase (I think)...

pump head vs pipe pressure in high rise building

here is the drawings https://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=dd02241a-0862-416d-93d2-3eecda935c0d&file=chiller.jpg I combine it to make it for the space. on the right is the pump room located on the first floor. the pipes goes up, up to roof top where the expansion tank is located...

pump head vs pipe pressure in high rise building

It is open tank so not much pressure is added. it is only by gravity.

pump head vs pipe pressure in high rise building

thanks for the answers The chiller plant is located on the other building. so the chiller and the pumps are in the lowest level. Expansion tank is located on the roof of the building. the height is already included in the 110 height. sorry about C. it is just a guess. best answer is to...

pump head vs pipe pressure in high rise building

Hi all, I am a new engineer, just started to work. I have a debate regarding the pressure in the chiller closed loop system. So here is the case: 1. Building height is 110m, as in the vertical pipe height 2. We are using 3 pumps in parallel (2 running and 1 backup) with each pump has 40m head...
