    blending silicone & other elastomer

    yes, silicon can be blended with other elastomers such as fluorocarbon, ethylene propylene, and fluorosilicon and these blends definitely improve resistance to heat, oil, and fuel, etc. Personally, I prefer silicon, HNBR, and PTFE Coated O Rings.
