We are using seizer type Effective / Actual space width gauges.

Thank you very much for your comment.
My main challenge is to reduce the first off time. Part is for internal drive, no of splines are 36, We measured OBD, internal minor / major Ø by CMM at 2 levels. It took 10 / 12 minutes for OBD. We measure Effective / Actual space width by gauges. Do you...

I have a part which have 36 splines. If space width (measured gauge), Minor Ø and Major Ø (measured CMM) are within tolerance.
Is there any possibilities Over Ball Ø Mdk are out of specification?
We make a part which has external major and external minor diameter with 40 spline.
We developed gauges for effective / actual tooth thickness, and spline profile
Major spline diameter has a tolerance of + 0.15.
My question is functionality of external major and minor Ø are really important in GEAR.
I need an expertise on a query. I want to know if there is any relationship between internal minor diameter, tooth thickness / space width and over balls diameter (OBD).
I want to avoid measuring OBD by CMM and want to calculate OBD based on internal minor and tooth thickness by gauge.
Do you...
