For a Gate Valve Customer asking A182 F316L Stem material instead of A479 XM-19, I want to know if there is any disadvantage in using XM-19 over 316L in process & power industry please,
Thank you for input, i don't have test set up to check practically high temp, is there anyway to theoretical way to determine temperature at Hand wheel.
Stem material used A479Ty.410Cond.2/ A182GrF6aCl.3 due to higher yield strength, but customer wants only F6a Cl.2, what could be the reason please, Gate & Globe Valves
How to calculate please,
1. Pressure drop if operating pressure 55.2 bara & temperature 600°C, flow rate 1.166 Kg/S, Cv 9.5 USGPM & bore 19mm
2. Pressure drop if operating pressure 259.6 bara & temperature 599°C, flow rate 1.131 Kg/S, Cv 10.5 USGPM & bore 25mm

Thank you, F91 T-globe valve used in thermal power plant had passing issue, when disassembled found 316 with Stellite6 Hard face Disc eroded at seating area, so wanted to understand more about drain valves.
Customer requirement 1"Cl.2500 T-Globe BWE Sch.XXS, can we reduce valve flow bore from 19.1 to 14mm for achieving BWE ID. Is it acceptable as per ASME B16.34
