What are you trying to do? Cool rubber on a mandrel
Get to liquid at a certain pressure? No set process pressure but need to be discharging liquid CO2 for the rubber
Use the CO2 for cooling? Yes
Or can you increase the pressure? No, it's a set pressure at the tank
How is pressure being...
Thanks everyone for responses. I don't think this is a problem that can be solved through a forum. As I said in my original post, is there a consultant or applications engineer who could help?
Thanks for the response. The system has 1-1/2" piping with 1-1/2" insulation and the loop is 700' so the supply/return are 350 ft each. We're using a Blackmer CRL 1.5 (Sliding Vane) pump. The pressure at discharge is 285 psi and 20 F.
I've installed a liquid CO2 system but keeping getting gas CO2 at the discharge rather than liquid. I've tried various things such as bringing the supply/return closer to the machine and increasing the line size but for some reason I can not get the system cold enough to get liquid. It's...
I'm writing a bunch of specifications for new equipment especially new bridge cranes. I've been told two different stories regarding using NEMA contactors vs IEC contactors. I've been told that NEMA contactors are superior and heavier duty but then have been told NEMA contactors are costly and...
I've got to fill in a 15' W x 15' L x 33' Deep concrete pit then pour an 8" slab for a machine. I'm a mechanical engineer this subject really isn't my wheel house. It's been suggested to fill in gravel and compact every 4'. My question is that typical way filling a pit? If so how do safely...
We have had a few issues where contractors will either sawcut, jackhammer or core drill through conduits or water lines at our plant. We've got permit called a penetration permit but it's still not preventing the issue. I'm sure we not the only plant with this situation. What do others do to...
Yes, the manufacturer has been contacted. These can be replaced on warrantee however this will be third set of coils on these cooling towers to be replaced. Every time it's a failure along the weld on the tube.
These are cooling towers. It's a closed circuit Baltimore Aircoil. To replace the tube, the entire coil would need to be replaced because it's a serpentine style coil and the leaks are in the tubes buried in the coil.
Can coils be purchased with seamless tubes?
We have 3 cooling towers with the coils leaking. One tower has been installed for 6 months and the other two have been in for 18 months. These appear to be leaking from the weld along the seam of the tubing. Has anyone experienced this before? If so what did you to fix it?
Can coils be...
Our company is looking at getting an "R" stamp for repairing our own pressure vessels. What are the necessary steps and is this a costly endeavor? Can we have a company employee be the Authorize Inspector or are we required to a have third party inspector?
Thanks
