    AWS D1.1 2010 Table 4.2(footnote d)

Good Day! As per Table 4.2 (footnote d) of AWS D1.1-2010, a CJP also qualifies for PJP and fillet (see 4.11.3). 4.11.3 requires 3 macro test if we will also include PJP in the WPS (CJP & PJP) but if we only use CJP & Fillet in the WPS, do we still have to do macro test? Thanks

    Aws D1.4 PQR

Good Day! As per Aws D1.4 2011 Table 6.3 (In-Direct butt) the minimum test specimen is 2. But it requires 2 full section tensile test and 2 macro test. Is my interpretation correct that the 2 test can be done on each specimen?which part I can use for the macro test?or do I need a total of 4...

Welder Qualification (Position) for Tank Shell Nozzles

SectionIX and fegenbush Thank you for your reply, our subcontractor wasn't able to qualify their welders for the overhead position so I have a doubt. Now I would recommend them for the 6G position.

    Welder thickness range qualified

metengr Thank you for your clarification, I misinterpreted the expression "maximum to be welded" as being qualified to unlimited thickness. I will re-check the WPQR since some of the welders have the thickness range of "unlimited" because their weld deposit is 13mm or more kagemaru05
