I do a lot of nozzle loads using pvelite. A large amount of the nozzles are tangential.
Pvelite doesn't handle tangential nozzles. Any suggestions other then FEA on how to handle
these nozzles?
Thanks in advance.
Anyone know if PVElite or NozzlePro provide user with nozzle flexibility/stiffness values
that can be used in CaesarII pipe stress analysis?
Thank you in advance.
Assume you are analyzing a vessel on 4 legs. The moment at the base of the
legs is 10000 ft-lbs due to seismic condition. The large nozzle in the top head has a
nozzle load of 10000 ft-lbs. Would you design the vessel support legs for a total
of 20000 ft-lbs?
Thank you in advance.
I have a 48" dia. vessel on 5" x 5" x 1/2" angle support legs.
The vessel has 2 large 14" and 16" dia, nozzles. The client wants
allowable nozzle loads and foundation loads from the allowable
nozzle loading. This seems like an indeterminate structure to me.
Does anyone have any suggestions on...
Over the years I have calculated the allowable nozzle loads on a vessel and applied these loads to the vessel nozzles when analyzing support legs (usually only the top nozzle). I use PVElite and apply this load at the top head to nozzle juncture using the external load feature. This loading most...
