Ankit, I run a static analysis of the model where I get the max value at critical location (= 90938.7 psi), Now I run a modal analysis and get the stress value for mode-1 at same location (= 133435 psi). I will plot this on a Haigh diagram.
Hello all, I am new to repair validation of compressor stage fan blades. To validate, I have to model the repair and compare the results with reference model results. As per the methodology document for fatigue life validation, we have to plot the stress values from linear static (on mean stress...
Hi, i am not sure but try this.
Go to Results Tab, select title (where you will find so many options like Primary result name, Secondary result name, etc..). Even you can type the customised text there. It will appear on the title. While doing , record a session file. You will get the function.

Dear All,
I am trying to create a macro to set fringe in Ansys (I am new to Ansys and I don't have much exposure to APDL). I have to create 100+ fringes and what I really require is a program in which if I am replacing max. and min. values, new fringe should be created.Anyone there who...
Hello all,
Can anyone tell me if Patran has any option similar to Hypermorph in Hypermesh. Currently I have a geometry with mesh, but I have made some changes in its dimensions. Now I need to capture the new geometry with the available mesh, without any re-mesh.
Thanks in advance
Thnks rb!
Sure...it s a good experience. Getting the solution for this kind of problems is pretty good.
Second option is more good.....
But it would be nice if some scaling option was there after the fe modeling
hi all,
I have completed the creation of a complicated FE Model. But now only i came to know that i forget to do the unit conversion from inches to mm ...Is there any way through which i can do the conversion after fe modelling?
Thanking you in advance!
Hi all,
I am a beginner in the aerospace domain. I have come across a common and simple error which i think most of the beginners might have experienced.
I was doing the FE Modeling for a secondary structure with lot many sensitive attachments in it.It took 3 days for me to complete...
i did (1) & (2), But both are giving different answers...
i think the problem is with b.c's (4 side ss)
So i need to know if we can solve 1 side ss & other clamped loading case through any theory
well said rb1957!
But in my problem the buckled part have it's unloaded edges SS; one loaded edge Clamped and other SS.
Can i find solutions for this BC's from any books or through any other means?
gr8 work rb & ESP...
I will try to make my question clear..
When talking about a simple euler column, can we say that there will be entirely no post buckling capacity?
Thank you rb....can you give some idea on how to carry out a postbuckling analysis in patran?
I have tried MSC's tutorial,the following link...... www.mscsoftware.com/.../Lec13_Lesson19_Post-Buckle_Plate.pdf
but I didn't find it useful.
yea...you are right. But still more clarity is needed. I think i should work more to see what is the real reason. May be some highly experienced people from industries can help to connect the result with the practical case
