What is the difference of DBTT & FATT

Dear all, It seems that both DBTT & FATT are reflecting the temperature from ductile to brittle. Any difference between DBTT and FATT: -ductile-brittle transition temperature (DBTT) -fracture appearance transition temperature(FATT) Thanks.

What is the applicable Code/std for fracture assessment for Metals in Aricraft & Aerospace engg?

Thanks Sparweb & rb1957 both your guidANce. I am a FEA guy for stress analysis and fatigue, sometimes, fracture assessment. For Ocen industry, I know BS 7910 was widely applied to assess Fatigue and Fracture. And I already had experience on this assessment. For Nuclear industry, I know R6 is...

Slenderness Ratio of Conductor Supported Platform

To fremgym, For code/Rules?AISC, There is no limitation on Slenderness Ratio. However, large Slenderness Ratio will means less compressive capacity for column. So the allowable compressive load against the working load will dominates the design.

    Stainless Steel 321

Hi, Dicer, As far as my understanding, steel 321 is suspectible to Chloride and H2S corrosion. It thus not suitable using in seawater and oil gas structure within H2S. however, for the application in river and lake, i think it is OK.
