Thanks, Graham.
I try to understand - more dience content, more double bonds need to be used up, longer cure? Does that mean I can try use lower diene content of EPDM?
Will it give much effect?
Generally EPDM is known for its marching cure properties.
Is there any possible sulphur cure mixture that we can use for reversion cure for EPDM? or possible for rubber blend?
Thanks.
I also would think Sulphur is the culprit, as usual...
But could sulphur less than 1.5phr also "helps" in case of blooming.
Yes, as said... it blooms, and we washed with silicon and water and then when it reaches our oversea customer (after some time)...it blooms again..
I'm trying to understand the nature of blooming that appear on our products but cannot really understand these I got from internet:
1. Is the color change light induced? (mask part of sample for reference)
Grey/Brown - amine antioxidant
Pink - phenolic antioxidant
2. Is the color change heat...
Thanks for the link provided.
Yes, I've read a lot about post-curing and silicon rubber. But since we're using NBR and EPDM, that's why I'm asking if they still need the same requirement for post-curing.
I cannot find much on post-curing with other type of rubber.
Btw, thank you so much again...
Thanks for your reply, Mr Graham.
May I know why is that?
I'm actually quite new in industry. There are so many things that we didnt learn in school that is applied in industry... Just realise that I have so many to learn...
Hi all.
I've been looking into the need to post cure rubber product for food contact application.
There are mentions like "post curing is absolutely mandatory in order to meet demands of FDA and WRAS norms. etc."
However, so far, all the article I found are mostly on silicone rubber. But I...
Hi all rubber experts
I need an insight on this.
I believe that NBR and NR (supposed to be) not compatible, isn't it?
Is there any way that we can "bind" both rubber? Or any other rubber that can act as the "binder" in between NBR and NR?
We are making a product that use NBR as main...
Thank you everyone for the replies. We've been experimenting with temperature and time in the hot oil to see f we can get optimum cure. It appears that we cannot rely on rheometer graph all the way.
Another issue that we face with another compound though the same process is blister. We've tried...
@GrahamBennett Why is the NR and hot oil curing not a suitable option? Thanks for the great idea, but thing is we would really like to continue using liquid curing. Sigh.
@GrahamBennet
we're using natural rubber.
@btrueblood
thanks for the great ideas! thing is, we hope there wouldnt be additional process. lol.
but yes will give it a try and see if that really helps. if it is, meaning by hook or by crook it need to be done. thanks!
We have one product that currently being produced using extrusion with liquid curing (hot oil).
The end products tend to be sticky. Even with silicon bath to prevent sticky during handling & packaging, eventually the products will still end up stick to one another while in packaging.
We...
