can you verify that the JT version of both is "9"? Does NX6 even support JT 9? Mayb NX6 does not creat JT9 while NX9 does create JT9?

Are you sure that both methods were used with the same settings? Because my expirience is that if you use the same settings, both (external and internal importer), produce the same result. Sometimes good and somtimes bad :-) higly depending on the file.
